Ignite Change. Inspire Greatness.
Be the driving force that shapes history in your city. City Directors don’t just run pageants — they transform lives. Step into the role that amplifies young voices, crowns the next generation of cultural leaders, and leaves your mark on history.
This is more than a title — it’s your moment to ignite pride, preserve heritage, and author the next chapter of your city’s story. The stage is set. Will you answer the call?

Behind the Crown
Being a City Director is more than organizing a pageant — it’s stepping into a mentorship role that shapes the next generation of leaders.
City Directors are the heartbeat of the #DefyTheOdds Mentorship Initiative and the Miss Juneteenth Virginia Legacy Pageant. You’re not just putting your city on the map — you’re walking alongside each young woman as she discovers her voice, builds her confidence, and learns the power of her own story.
From the moment your contestant wins her local title, you become part of her journey — attending workshops, offering guidance, and chaperoning her through the state program. You’ll help prepare her for the stage, but more importantly, for life beyond the crown.
As a City Director, you will:
-
Recruit Local – Find and prepare eligible girls to represent your City.
-
Host a City Pageant Event - Plan a City level pageant in your area.
-
Champion Her Growth – Be present at state workshops, guiding her through cultural, leadership, and confidence-building sessions.
-
Represent Your City – Attend local events that celebrate history, heritage, and community pride with the City Queen.
-
Be A Support System – Provide encouragement, accountability, and Mentor as she (and her parents) navigate the program.
This isn’t just about a crown — it’s about changing lives, one city at a time.

Your Impact
This is how legacies are built — not in a single moment, but in every step, conversation, and connection along the way.
When you step into the role of City Director, you’re not just influencing an event — you’re influencing a future. Every workshop you attend, every piece of advice you give, and every door you help open becomes part of a young woman’s story.
Your presence matters. Your voice matters. And the legacy you help create will outlast the spotlight on any stage.

Where Leadership Meets Legacy
Your Impact Beyond the Crown:
As a City Director, your influence reaches far beyond a stage or a single event. You are a mentor, a cultural ambassador, and a bridge between history and the future.
Through the #DefyTheOdds Mentorship Initiative and the Miss Juneteenth Virginia Legacy Pageant, you help young women grow into confident leaders who understand their worth, embrace their heritage, and step boldly into their purpose.

Here’s how your leadership shapes change:
-
Empower the Next Generation – Give young women the courage to dream bigger, speak louder, and stand taller.
-
Preserve Our Culture – Ensure Juneteenth’s history and meaning are celebrated, understood, and passed down.
-
Strengthen Your Community – Create events that unite families, leaders, and neighbors in pride and purpose.
-
Shape Lifelong Leaders – Instill values, skills, and confidence that will carry contestants far beyond the program.
“Every city deserves a leader who sees the potential in its youth and invests in their future.”
