The National Miss Juneteenth pageant was held in Galveston, TX, the birthplace of Juneteenth. After months of preparations, a new queen was crowned on October 15, 2022. Many young ladies participated from all over the United States. Fan favorites hailed from Texas, Colorado, Florida, and more. Pageant weekend was an exciting time for contestants, directors, family, and the public. Jam packed with Meet & Greets, Photo Ops, Historical Tours, Interviews, and so much more. The Miss Juneteenth USA platform has created its own lane to highlight not just Juneteenth history, but to uplift all of the participants to instill pride, cultural awareness, and community within in its program. In the end, Miss Madison Corzine, from Dallas/Ft. Worth Texas was the royal who claimed the throne, title, and awards.
Madison, at only 16 years old, is very active in the community as she started a non-profit organization called Pragmatic Prodigies. The nonprofit is dedicated to inspiring and empowering underrepresented and marginalized youth to excel academically through participation in dual-enrollment, advanced curricula, and community service. Additionally, Pragmatic Prodigies advocates in urban communities to combat issues that surround Teen Period Poverty. Other major items that Madison is involved in include the Texas Success Initiative, Dual Enrollment, Financial Aid Prep, Mentorships, and Community Service. As one can see, Madison is super-charged in making a difference not just in Dallas-Ft. Worth, but across the nation.
